The Fundación RIO Call, part of the International Film Festival of Lebu, aims to strengthen the Chilean audiovisual industry by supporting fiction and documentary short films up to 30 minutes, excluding pure animation and completed projects. It is open to individuals or legal entities based in Chile, with a focus on projects from different regions of the country. Submissions are accepted from December 29, 2025, to April 15, 2026.
After the deadline, a committee evaluates the projects and selects preselected participants, who present a live pitch during BioBío Conecta 2026, between April 27 and 30, 2026. Notifications to preselected projects are sent approximately 12 days after the submission deadline.
The winning project receives a financial award to support production of the short film, along with visibility and networking opportunities. This call seeks to decentralize the Chilean audiovisual industry, providing space for creators from various regions and promoting both national and international exposure for their work.

The program takes place mainly in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and is open only to applicants who are citizens or permanent residents of those countries. There are two streams: Feature Pool, focused on feature film concepts in early development, and Creative Pool, which accepts projects of any format or genre, including short films, series, animation, documentary, and multimedia concepts. Accepted formats include shorts, features, series, and animation of any narrative style. Selected projects gain creative support, mentorship from industry professionals, and opportunities to present to producers and investors during the festival. Additional benefits may include creative residencies and support for developing proofs of concept. The program emphasizes project development rather than a traditional market pitch. It culminates in presentations and ongoing development toward future production opportunities.
